Meridian Professional Services — September 2026
Fictional demonstration only. All company details, figures and the illustrative reconciliation below are invented to demonstrate reporting structure. They are not verified business results. All amounts are AUD.
1. AI investment and financial benefit
April–September 2026: recorded AI costs $180,000; financial benefit before those AI costs $158,400; investment recovered 88%; remaining shortfall $21,600; net cumulative position −$21,600. No break-even date is predicted.
Illustrative reconciliation assumptions: six-month AI-attributable revenue $220,000, less related non-AI delivery costs $132,000, gives $88,000 contribution. Separately recorded, non-overlapping realised cost savings of $70,400 bring the financial benefit to $158,400. Deducting AI costs of $180,000 gives −$21,600. These added breakdown amounts are fictional modelling assumptions, not supplied evidence.
In a real report, revenue attribution requires a stated method and supporting transaction records; related delivery costs and realised savings require evidence. Staff time estimates alone are not cash savings. Savings already included in delivery costs must not be counted again. The $180,000 AI cost ledger must also be reconciled without duplicating those delivery costs.
2. September revenue
Total company revenue $1,800,000; AI-attributable revenue $90,000, included within that total and within the illustrative six-month $220,000. Neither amount is added again to financial benefit. Revenue is not net profit. This demonstration does not establish whole-company net profit.
3. CEO objectives
Six recorded objectives: four achieved, one below its agreed target and flagged for investigation, one awaiting verification. Individual goal definitions, targets and evidence are not supplied in this fictional brief and are therefore not invented here.
4. Governance records
The scripted example describes a September update supporting privacy policy disclosure work. A real monthly record identifies each AI system, its purpose, personal information used, involvement in decisions affecting people, responsible record owner, changes and outstanding information. Specific systems and evidence are not supplied in this demonstration. This is recordkeeping support for organisational review, not certified legal compliance.
5. AI performance
The four achieved objectives are the same four described above. The script reports no additional issues identified for those results in the records reviewed. One performance query remains open; its cause is not established. No assumptions or blame are assigned. No employee capability or performance is assessed.
6. Staff have their say
Employee observations about AI are recorded separately from verified operational information. No actual staff submissions have been supplied for this fictional demonstration. Selected observations are read aloud only when requested by the CEO.
7. Evidence and next briefing
This sample has no underlying company evidence files. A client report would link the financial ledgers, attribution calculations, cost and savings records, objective evidence and governance records, and explicitly identify gaps. The next executive briefing in this fictional schedule is 2 November 2026.
